2:30 a.m. and wide awake

2:30 a.m. and wide awake.

So here I am wide awake. Let me pick you up to where I left you off...the car ride which in and of itself was quite the adventure. I get in the car with Mohammed. He doesn't say anything to me because Tour Guy said he will take you to the hotel. Now, no one tells me how far, how long it will take or what trauma I may incur. I get in thinking hmmm the hotel must be close by we are staying in Cairo and it is Cairo Airport that I am at. Well, it must have been an hour later that I arrived at my hotel safely unscathed surprisingly.

When I got into the car, I thought he must do this for a living and he is with the tour company so it shouldnt be so bad. I was scared for my life. I have to tell you that I make fun of NYC cab drivers because every time I take a cab, which I have to admit is far and few in between as I prefer the safety of the subway and my feet to the streets of NYC in a cab, I literally get a Chiropractic Adjustment and not necessarily in a good way as the alignment may actually be a misalign. hahaha Well that experience from now on is heaven to me. This experience driving on the highway is crazy! Thank goodness, I do not have to get behind a wheel here. They just cut over and don't look, or they drive in the middle of two lanees so yes right over the line so at any moment they can be in your lane, they drive so fast and then slam on the breaks weaving in and out of traffic. Now, this would have frightened me tremendously if i wasn't nearly asleep...my eyes just kept closing I was so tired. I just know that I was thankful when the drive was over and I saw my hotel which looked beautiful, but it is nighttinme so I don't really know.

I check in and they don't know who I am. They take my passport and photocopy it to have me on record. I must say it isnt a really big deal because they use it like we use our driver's license in the states, but when you are not prepared, you are not prepared. It takes about ½ hour before I find my way to my room...that is just them finding where I needed to go. I have someone walk me to my room which is uneventful and I am grateful for, but thinking I am hungry and don't know how to get back to the hotel lobby as this place is a maze quite literally. And alll I want to do is sleep.

I arrive to the room which is empty and find that the key is attached to a card and that card has to go into a slot to get the electricity to work in the room—ingeniuous I think to myself, but what a quandry when there is only one key card to your roo..hmmm the key by the way is an actual key imagine that!

My roommate arrives...thank God for her. She has been here one day before me and can give me the scoop...a little scoop as she is like me in infancy stages of learning about Egypt. She told me that it was Thursday still, but I have to admit I am confused. I went to bed after I met her at like 7:00 and am up right now...and well am ready to go back to sleep will write more later....

Apologies for delay in Posting from Egypt

Hello Dear Ones,

I apologize for interrupting your regularly posted blogs, but internet access is not easy to come by here in Egypt so I am not sure how many more posts I will be able to send before I leave this hotel, but I am hoping at the very least...so much to write and so much to tell..it is amazing here...

Just an FYI--it was just 11:11 here on January, 11, 2011...be sureto take a view minutes to honor the energy...11 is also known as twinflame energy. I will be writing to you again. Must love, light and blessings...from Egypt..my adventures in Egypt along with spiritual expressions will be journaled and blogged during opportunities I have to log on...if I don't I will post them upon my return to America.

Arriving in Egypt

OMG it is intense busyness here. I looked out the window to the plane and saw sand. Yes, that is what I saw...lots of it. As we were landing, I thought wow are we landing right in the sand? They don't have a tarmac? By the way, forgive the typos as I have had very little sleep. The vision I kept getting with this trip is getting off the plane—that is all my guides have imparted to me about this trip. I am not sure what to expect other than getting off the plane. We actually did land on a paved runway road with sand on both sides of us.

So here, I am just getting off the plane, by the way, did you know that planes have a back door that you can leave on? I just found out they do. I just walked down the steps from the back of the plane. Egypt welcomed us with a very windy welcome. There was a two link bus waiting to take us from the middle of the desert to our entry point. Amazing! I wanted to take pictures, but not one tourist took out a camera and I thought probably not a good idea until I am admitted into the country and I learn the rules a little more. So we are herded into the airport security point where you are welcomed by an English speaking man who was nice except he said what he needed to and if you have to ask him any questions, well the thing is that I don't think he understood and repeated what he said in a not so pleasant manner.

I keep thinking about what my twin said in an ethereal way to me...”Don't be yourself. Don't be so friendly and nice. You are in a foreign country.” Mind you those thoughts words rang loud and clear as I looked around to the other side of Customs gate.

Had to go and get a VISA which you pay for and then you are on your way to fill out a piece of paper that by the way, the airlines should have provided for us or at the very least informed us, but they didnt. So what I am saying is that the crew of that Delta was not very good at preparation, or keeping us hydrated (thank goodness I brought water aboard) or feeding us. By the way, as an American after an overnight flight, I would think you would choose to have breakfast upon waking regardless what time it is in the country you will be arriving in, but apparently pizza and a chickpea salad is the customary breakfast on Delta. I digress.

I get to Customs and they take my passport, but don't say you can pick it at the little tiny hole (opening in a black walled area). I was a little concerned to say the least. Then, I look in the little tiny hole and say that is my passport and this man looks up at me and says, this is yours? As if I was asking me surprised. Weird.

All these tour companies are there with signs to pick up there people. I look and look and do not find anyone to pick me up...no April D'Amato signs, no Scarab Tour signs, no Oasis hotel signs. Uh oh is my first thought as I look at the mob of people dwindling down as we get our luggage. My peeps I met on the plane were really sweet and said good bye to me wishing me well. I have to say I was a little nervous and then lo and behold a nice looking young man holds up a tour sign and was I ever grateful. He tells me we have to wait and we make small talk...the small talk consists of him asking me three times, is this your first time to Egypt? I say yes it is. Then he asks me, is this your first time to Africa? Is this your first time to the Middle East and I think oh shit...it is ...Egypt Africa and the Middle East...wow I am here. What the hell I made it...and we sit for about a half hour while I try to figure out how to use this little miniature doll size laptop to send one sentence email to my dad and my friend to let them kn ow I arrive. I was thirsty so I walk over to the counter to buy a bottle of water (now hours later wish I bought ten bottles of water). The price was 7 Egyptian pounds which I do not know what that is in US dollars, but I can't promise you that I ever will since conversion of numbers and money is not my strong suit.

We wait and then my “driver” arrives to bring me to the hotel which is not thee same man who held up the tour sign. The tour sign guy who I do not know his name (he told me, but I didn't understand). Just a quick aside...I highly recommend you know some Arabic if you come to an Arabic country....I don't which is why I say that. Anyway, so here I am with the tour guy bringing me out of the airport which was really interesting experience...walking to the exit is all windows just like at home at an airport, except here you are greeted by a mob of people looking at you...I mean a mob like 100 or so that didn't want to go into the airport to greet you at the luggage area. So here I am, following tour guy out the door with all this luggage. As I walk out I am sadly mistaken to think the driver is right there waiting for me. No he is about a 3-4 minute walk to a car that looks nothing like the name limosene that is on the door (the walk felt like eternity when you are a tired woman on like maybe 3 hours sleep, thirsty, needing to pee and carrying luggage). The car was probably smaller than my honda.

On the Plane

1.6.11/1.7.11

On the plane, just took off. Woo hoo...I'm actually going to Egypt, ya know? The continent of Africa? How cool is that? Way cool...

Have two women near me who are gluten free and get this Holistic Practitioners in MA. What a small world It was nice to have two warm and welcoming women to sit with. Look at this free movies, tv and dinner? Really, but I am not hungry---might as well eat something or I may be hungry.

1.6/1.7.11

Okay back again. Dinner was not too shabby for a gluten free meal, of course, everyone else got a brownie and a dinner roll (at that moment I was truly craving some). Then, we are allowed to watch as many movies as we would like the little screen is buit into the back of the seat in front of us. Now, everything seems all so surreal again as I watch the plane's mapping over the ocean, London, Rome, etc. Really doesn't seem real as I try to sleep on the plane.

Not tired enough after I ate, I thought a movie would do me good since eyes were too tired to read or write. Of course, the first headset they gave me, broke the first time I got up to go to the bathroom (believe me this flight I was thoroughly hydrated).I chose to watch Eat, Pray & Love to watch thinking this would be an inspiring movie in preparation for my trip. I totally could not get into it and the thing is that it just didn't do it for me.

Back again, betcha didn't even know I was gone. I am back and we are soon going to land. The woman next to me was really sweet and imparted some wisdom to me. The good news she gave me some tidbits that were helpful and then told me some important facts that I neglected to learn about before I left the US so it kind of made me a little nervous....like the fact that she brought a ton of food with her fearing she may not find anything gluten free. Oy vey is all I can say and I am off for....see you in Egypt.

Egypt 1.6.11

So here I sit at JFK airport looking to get internet access, but apparently you have to pay for it here, I have to say that it truly has been an adventure aready. My day starting out packing and getting really excited about the upcoming adventure and it is finishing at the airport sitting with my Chai Tea Latte—half skim, half soy—thanks Victoria for teaching me this combo.

I sit and reflect upon my day. It has been very emotional. I woke rather early and wondered how was it that I still had so much to pack and still have shopping to do before I lea ve. It is all so surreal. I am packing for Egypt I thought—how truly incredible is that? Last year at this time I was home sick and trying to figure out why..I would never believe you if you told me I would be making this journey.

As I packed this morning, I thought about the last couple weeks and I have felt so loved by all my friends and family. I feel like I am basking in the love. Thank you everyone. It means so much to me and found myself having tear of happiness. I went through so many emotions this morning—almost as if I was recapping the last year of great changes through my emotions. One of the most painful is that I am not in contact with my twinflame and I miss him terribly and it is only exacerbated at this present moment due to the fact that as I type this I sit about 15-20 minutes from him and he doesnt even know it; on a human level that is..

When I got on the road, I felt so many different waves of emotions: happiness, sadness, love, fear, hope and excitement. (Honestly, I am sure there were more. Tears started to come and felt like a sappy mess. The tears represented so many things. I mean it is not everyday that one goes to Egypt—it is a dream come true for me. I also felt tears as I said good bye to the people I love. I said good bye to old memories and hello to new manifestations of the future.

While I fee this trip will prove to be mighty powerful, there is so much releasing, The musings I do know about this trip are that I haven't a clue as to what is in store for me and I will likely come back a changed person. I don't know exactly what that all means I just know it is really happening and things just may look a little different for me.

As I drove, I asked my beloved twin to give me a sign on my drive. I have not humanly talked to him recently and I wanted to hear from him and as I asked that I knew he couldn't call me not just yet that is, but I also knew he could give me an incredible sign and he did! I made my way up to New York and found a rainbow shining down clear as day for me and it was there the entire trip to New York I took that as a message that he loves me and heard me and of course that my trip to Egypt would be blessed. That was the first sign, but the second sign came with a song I heard on the radio for the first time in months, but three times this day and it was just being played now at the airport...”I NEED YOU NOW”.

By the way, JFK is insane. So many people, my ride to the airport brought me to a terminal and I went in to ask if this is where my flight was going out of and welll...that was quite the event as an ambulance pulled up behind me and my driver was told to get out of the way. Not to mention that everyone at JFK in that particular terminal must have been pms'ing or wait, is that just the NY attitude? Perhaps, people are right I am sweet and too nice...right “L”? So I said to my twinsoul, you frequent this airport, help me!! Just in that instant a guy said, can I help you ? Are you flying out tonight? He instructed me that I was in the wrong terminal and gave me all different possibilities on how to get to the correct one and was extremely helpful. I just found that area to be extremely crazy; it was overloaded with people. So we drove to the appropriate terminal and after that last trip to the wrong terminal, I was prepared for chaos and clamor; instead, I got out and it was smooth and organized. There was a check in port and the guy checked me and inform I had room in my baggage to add more if need be. Then I walked through security like nothing. Amazing right? It is...and now I wait...I wait to board the plane and just took a peak in my area and wow there must be nearly 80 to 100 people going to Cairo with me, surely there has to be someone nice?

Epiphany

As I get ready to embark on my own personal adventure to Egypt, I was told recenty that today is known as Epiphany. I looked up its meaning online and it is as follows: "Epiphany is commonly known as Twelfth Night, Three Kings’ Day, or the Feast of Epiphany. It means “manifestation” or “showing forth”. It is also called Theophany (“manifestation of God”), especially by Eastern Christians." All I can say is WOW--I didn't know it had anything to do with Manifestation. What better day for me to leave on a most treasured soul journey than on this day. This trip thus far in my life is my ultimate manifestation. I can't wait to see it what it all brings to me.

I finally have the excitement rushing in and know this trip will be absolutely amazing. I am doing my last minute packing this morning before heading out to NYC to fly out of JFK. Have I mentioned to anyone that I don't like shopping? Well...I really don't like shopping even more as I have had to cram in all my preparations for this trip in the last three days due to the fact that I had been sick since Christmas...I ran from store to store to store and guess what I have one more store to go to!! Wish me luck as that alone is an adventure. I am so looking forward to taking you all along on my journey of inner peace, alignment and healing in Egypt, but on the off chance that I can't figure out the internet connection...I will keep logs of the journey and post them one by one so you truly get to experience my trip with me.

Okay...would really like to write more...is that procrastination or am I finally getting my creative juices flowing? Hmmm...perhaps a little of both, but the suitcase is calling so I must answer it as there is far too much I have to put in there that doesn't appear as though it will fit. So, I must go for now to pack it all up...see you soon or as someone I love always says, bye for now.

Snippet on Trip Angst

Wow...I can't believe it is Monday morning and I am feeling 93% like me. I can't believe the luck of getting sick right after the Christmas holiday until today when I feel not quite 100% yet, but getting there. I am leaving the country in 3 days...I think the reality is setting in while I gather all my stuff together and figure out what to do next. I am so excited and so freaked out at the same time. The interesting freak out that I am is all the little details that I so disdain from day to day. The truth is that in the past I have always had the type "A" personality and now well that went out the window a good ten years ago and now I feel spontaneous and nonchalant. The truth remains that to a closet type "A" personality not planning each and every step of the way makes me appear the other extreme...but that really isn't the case.

So let's add a little more stress to my head...my dad doesn't want me to go to Egypt. He has never wanted me to go out of the country really, but since I told I was going he has found something interesting to share with me the whole about Egypt--like a shark attack, tour bus deaths and then a few people in my circle of love told me about some other things that have happened or happen there. And toda, I woke to the information about a Church Bombing in Egypt on January 1. SO really? I think to myself as I think over the past month with all the little tidbits I learned and heard about Egypt. Honestly I am so oblivious to all that happens in society at times because I live in the new earth energy of a peaceful, love-filled paradigm which makes me a flower child to some and a crazy daydreamer to others, but to me makes me peaceful, happy and content.

I think all this being so busy, sick and not able to "prepare" for the trip has been a blessing in disguise...it is as if my beautiful angels and guides that surround me want me to not think about those things...they want me to go with an open spirit and trust that all is well with this journey to a deeper level of my soul.

By the way, I chose the word angst to describe today's blog because it fits my state of mind...definition of angst from the online Urban Dictionary: Angst, often confused with anxiety, is a transcendent emotion in that it combines the unbearable anguish of life with the hopes of overcoming this seemingly impossible situation. Without the important element of hope, then the emotion is anxiety, not angst.

Well..just a brief snippet on my angst...I am off and running with my day.
